The Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) was founded in 1966 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. Since accrediting its first board-certified plastic surgeon in 1975, the society has been dedicated to advancing education and research, producing a total of 2,242 specialists over the past five decades.
KSPRS’s mission is to enhance human health by driving progress in plastic and reconstructive surgery and public health through cutting-edge expertise.
In 1974, KSPRS established the Korean Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to promote academic development. In 2012, the journal was renamed Archives of Plastic Surgery, transitioning to an English-language online submission system and earning inclusion in prestigious international databases such as PubMed and SCOPUS.
Today, it stands as the leading plastic surgery journal in Asia and continues to strive toward becoming a globally recognized academic publication.
